Also known as silk screening, is a popular choice for higher-volume tee shirt orders and large prints. The crafts involves creating stencils for each color in the design which are then used to print on garments using plastisol fabric ink. Heat printing, also known as heat transfer printing, is the process of applying heat transfer materials to various items with a heat press. Heat-applied materials contain a heat-sensitive adhesive on one side; when heat is applied by a heat press to the material, the material adheres to the substrate, resulting in a decorated garment. We use this technique most often on jerseys with numbers and names. The design is first cut with a cutting plotter and the negative parts are removed with tweezers. The positive design is then applied using the correct amount of heat and pressure with a commercial heat press.
